Your Personal UTM Tag Builder
Creating UTM tags manually is from now on one for ‘back in the days’. We’ve improved our platform and developed a new feature for you: the awesome UTM tag builder (check out our previous blog on how to use UTM tags).
Yes, that’s right. The long days of manually building your own UTM tags are over. We now provide you with a super handy – automatic – template that you can use when building ads. Don’t worry, you can still use the way you’re used to work with, but why wouldn’t you take advantage of the new URL tag builder?!
To keep track on your marketing performances and to make it easier to use, the default option in The Next Ad will be to use the URL tag builder. This allows you to track traffic originating from a certain ad set or ad to your website and measure how well certain parts or elements of your campaign are performing.
This is how it works
In the advanced options of an ad set or ad creative you will find the URL tags. By default the custom URL tags – called a set of query string parameter – will automatically be added to the URL’s. You can switch the ‘define my custom URL tags’ off to create UTM tags yourself using our form in two ways:
- Add custom parameters without using the templates. Each URL tag will need a key and the value
- Or use one of the templates, which allow you to select predefined URL tags to use. 5 rows will be added with the following keys:
- utm_source
- utm_medium
- utm_campaign
- utm_term
- utm_content
Finally, a preview of the URL will be shown during the creation process of UTM tags.
Good to know
If you select to create multi ads, the only difference between creatives will be the ad group name. So, it can be added as a token if you want to do so.
